Heathman Hotel

{Sponsored Post} My experience staying the night in Portland’s most famous luxury hotels.

I have been to The Heathman Hotel many times: for Holiday High Tea, company Christmas parties, drinks with friends and the beaujolais nouveau wine party just to name a few.  The Heathman Hotel is a fixture of Portland and this weekend,  for the first time, I got to spend the night.  What a treat!

Heathman Hotel Entrance Day

Recently, the hotel contacted me to ask if I would be interested in becoming a brand ambassador so I can share their wonderful property with with my readers.  Of course I said yes, so look for more on this hotel throughout the next year.

Heathman Suite Sitting Area

Heathman Hotel Bedroom

They sure know how to treat a girl right, because when we arrived they upgraded us to a suite. It was marvelous! Before opening the door, we  were wondering if it might have two rooms.  It did not, but it did have two bathrooms!  The room was a simple “L” shape with a one bathroom at the entrance, a sitting area straight ahead and the king-size bed around the corner along with the second bathroom.

There were three things that really impressed me about the room.  First, the big bathroom.  It was huge with a palatial walk-in shower (wheelchair accessible too) and a super cool mirror that was backlit in the dark.  The shower was by far my favorite part because it was so spacious and included a giant shower head with great water pressure.  The nice selection of shampoos and body wash didn’t hurt either.

Heathman Hotel Bed

Second:  The bed.  The most important part, right?  It was super comfortable, somehow soft and firm at the same time with luxurious high thread count sheets.  I’m not sure of the actual thread count, but I’m guessing it is quite high because they are far and away better than my cheapo target sheets at home.

Heathman Hotel Coffee Service

Third:  The in-room coffee service.  They provide Portland Roasting Company coffee, an electric kettle and a french press along with all the accouterments you might need.  I loved being able to sit on the couch  enjoying a nice cup of coffee (and the room), before getting the day started.  The little things make all the difference at hotels and this was a big one for me.

Heathman Hotel Entrance Night

The only thing we didn’t take advantage of was the Valet Parking, it was $42/night.  Being locals we knew we could park for much less elsewhere.  But they were very accommodating, allowing us to leave our car while we checked in and brought our bags inside before moving it to another nearby garage.

Heathman Hotel Zelda Dog

Zelda greets 4-legged guests with a fresh bowl of water at the entrance to the hotel.

Next time I hope to check out a few more features of the hotel, like the famous library, fitness center and hopefully the restaurant, which is under renovation until sometime in the fall.

We left feeling rested, refreshed and wishing we could stay longer.  I  think that spells success for any hotel.  If you are looking for a luxury hotel in the heart of downtown Portland, this is the place.  Happy travels!
