Doggie Dash

I don’t usually write about work, but last month I got to work on an awesome project, a commercial for the Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash.  I had some of my co-workers bring in their dogs to be the stars and I took these fun photos.

Ladies and gentlemen… I present behind the scenes at the Doggie Dash commercial shoot:

That’s our anchor Kelley, with her cute little pug Spanky.  We had some peanut butter on the camera lens and got some great shots of him licking the screen.

I love this shot.  It looks like Bart is trying to explain to Sadie what she’s supposed to do.  “Ok girl, you sit here and I’m going to go over there and throw you the ball, okay?”

Here’s my little monster, Spike, waiting his turn to go on camera.  My boss is in the background with her dog Ruby.

Here comes Ruby!  She was pretty scared by the whole thing, but very sweet.  The guy in the background is actually a professional dog trainer, Joel Silver, he showed up to help us wrangle the dogs.

Finally, here’s Sadie in her big moment… the tennis ball shot. You can see the camera shot on the monitor in the lower left corner.  She caught the ball perfectly every time, but it took about 5-6 tries before we got it just right on camera.

Here is the finished product:

Doggie Dash
