Dahlia Festival

Are you looking for something fun this Labor Day weekend?  Maybe a beautiful drive in the country?  I highly suggest taking a trip out to the Dahlia Festival in Canby, OR.  We went last summer and had a wonderful time driving around, visiting the local farm stands on the way, then wandering the gorgeous fields of blooms.

The Dahlia Festival is at the Swan Island Dahlia Farm.  You can buy cut flowers, but you can not cut them your self.  You’re invited to walk the fields, enjoy their picnic area, and visit their inside flower display.  The flower display shows you the huge variety of Dahlias from miniature to dinner plate sized bloom plus, gives you the chance to order bulbs for your own yard.

On the way home I highly recommend taking the very cute Canby Ferry.  It is free for pedestrians and bikes, but will cost $2 for the average sized car.
