OMSI Gingerbread Adventure

While I haven’t started decorating yet, I’m fully embracing the holiday season.  My radio is on K103 (All Christmas Station) I’m making list, buying gifts and planning as many holiday outings as possible.  ZooLights, The Grotto, PIR Winter Wonderland, Peacock Lane and Alpenrose Dairy are all on my list, but my first stop is a new one on the “Portland Christmas Circut”…. OMSI!

Not that we need another reason to visit OMSI (That place us freaking awesome at anytime of year)  But this year they have a special seasonal display: Gingerbread Adventure.  If you follow me on Instagram you know I like Gingerbread creations, so I was intrigued.   OMSI invited a number of local chefs/restaurants to participate, gave them a “space exploration” theme and let them go to work.  

The exhibit was a little smaller than I was hoping, but overall it was great!  There was so much creativity, both with the overall concept of the project and the use of materials.  At the end you are asked to vote for the best one, and it was a tough call.  They were all so good.  The exhibit continues through January 2 2017, so you have plenty of time to add it into your holiday plans.  Plus the Space Exhibit currently open at OMSI is super rad too.  Happy Holidays!
