Doll Asylum
Keep Portland Weird at it’s best! Check out this one-of-a-kind Halloween attraction operated out of a local family’s home. Worth the visit!
Happy Halloween! I have a good one for you today. Events like this are why I write this blog. This is Portland at its finest: a weird Halloween attraction operated out of a local family’s home. It’s entirely home made and free. For 6 nights this year, they let they public inside their home to see….. dun dun dunnnn…. THE DOLL ASYLUM.
It is exactly what it sounds like. Baby dolls in creepy, weird and gruesome displays. Important things to know…
- This is not a “jump out and scare you” haunted house. You just walk around and look, so if you avoid things like that, have no fear. And if you are sensitive to gore, it’s easy to self-edit as all the really gross stuff is out back.
- We brought Baby Brigitte to this and she was not the only baby there! But she is not old enough to understand what this is. I don’t even think she owns a doll. I would advise against toddlers and young elementary, but I think older kids would really love this. But of course…. you be the judge of what your own children can handle.
- It is totally free but they do accept donations of your old and battered dolls.
- They serve cider, cookies and candy at the end!
This is only open for three more nights, October 30 & 31 and November 1, 2015. I highly suggest you check it out. It’s funny, creepy and puts you in the Halloween spirit. Happy Halloween!
