Star Trek Costume

Happy Halloween!  For once I actually have a cool costume ready to go.  I’ve always wanted my own Star Trek TOS uniform, so I decided to “make it so”.  (I realize that’s a Picard reference, deal with it)  I’ve always thought they were kind of sexy without shedding too much skin.  Unfortunatly, the pattern (Simplicity 8028) is out of print.  So I had to buy it on eBay.  The dress came together easily.  I was worried about sewing the ribbed knit neckline, but it  came out perfectly.  Then the dress was a little baggy so I took in the sides a little to make it more flattering.  Finally, I bought the patch on Amazon, sewed on some rickrack and it was done.  I’m pretty proud of it.  Now I just need to make Jacob the Captain Kirk tunic.
