Camp Putt

Why my favorite place to play mini golf is 2 hours away from Portland.

Anyone who knows me, knows about the passion Jacob and I share for miniature golf.  It’ something we did a lot of when we first started dating in college and it’s been a hobby we’ve continued for the next 10 years.  Someday I hope to go on a mini-golf tour down the eastern seaboard, but until that glorious day, we are always on the lookout for great courses around the northwest… and one of our favorites is still Camp Putt in the outskirts of Eugene.

We have been playing here since the very beginning of our relationship because it’s a great course.  Camp Putt has two 18-hole courses.  This is what I call a “natural” course design.  It’s all rocks, water traps, and sand pits.  No windmills here. They charge $6 for 18 holes, $10 for al 36.  My favorite is the front 18.  It’s the older course and has some really well designed, fun and surprising holes.  I’ve probably played this course 20 times over the last 10 years, maybe more and it’s always entertaining and challenging.

The back 18, has a few really fun holes too including some great water features.  But it’s  newer course and the landscaping is smaller… so it’s was incredibly hot this weekend with little to no shade.  But it was still a lot of fun.  I just spent a lot of time fantasizing  about jumping in the waterfalls.

IMO this is one of the best courses in the northwest.  It’s just a short drive off of I-5 and just down the street from U of O.  If you love minigolf as much as I do, or just need a break from the car, I suggest stopping the next time you pass through (or visit) Eugene!
