Cold Weather

This weekend we went to see the movie, Cold Weather, at the Hollywood Theater and it was excellent.  It’s a movie made by  local director, Aaron Katz, and takes place all over Portland.  And when I say all over Portland, I mean it’s pretty much a 90-minute video postcard with an old-fashioned detective story woven in.  Skyline diner, Hawthorne, Highway 30, Rose Garden, Clinton Street, East Glisan and an amazing sequence around Le Bistro Montage.

The writing and cinematography were both superb.  The first 40 minutes were kind of slow, but for me that made the ending, when my heart was pounding, that much more thrilling.  Go see it while you can.
